The Vario 50 makes the jump into serious expedition territory. It starts with 5,000 cubic inches of load-carrying capacity, a double-drawstring closure on the main pocket, and a lid system with double buckles for added security.
Side zippers give you access to the middle of the main pocket for easy gear retrieval, and stretch side pockets keep odds and ends in reach. Constructed from our revolutionary new KXO-50™ fabric, the Vario 50 is an insanely tough, highly water-resistant pack that will carry massive amounts of equipment or meat with ease.

Aramid Bartacking on Stress Points
Badlands chose this thread because a single strand of Aramid fiber can hold more than 100 pounds. Look for that yellow bartack reinforcing every stress point on our packs. Why yellow? Because it's so tough, it can't even be dyed. Hey, at least it's not pink.
Badlands' New KXO-50™ Fabric
This new fabric has all the features you love about KXO-32™ fabric — it's insanely tough, incredibly quiet, and absolutely waterproof. What's different, you say? KXO-50 is even lighter in weight.
Detachable Rifle/Bow Boot
Why risk damaging your rifle or bow? Use this detachable Rifle/Bow Boot and the batwing straps on the back of your Badlands pack to securely carry your rifle or bow, hands-free.
Aramid Bartacking
One strand of this thread can lift 110 pounds. But at Badlands, we don't use just one strand. All of the yellow bartacking you see on our packs' stress points are triple-stitched aramid thread.
