I purchased my first pair of the MOJO Mini Mallards this past duck season. I owned a pack of 12 standard floating decoys that worked pretty decent.
BUT
These things were a complete game-changer for my season.
I did a couple trials and I will explain those below.
Somewhere in the South Georgia Marshlands:
My first time out with the MOJOs was with a full spread of the floating dozen and the pair of MOJOs with one set of wings facing north/south and the other east/west. I had a good amount of ducks come in with this set up and I was pleased.
I then started trying different things with the MOJOs to see what works best.
I tried using half as many floaters and both MOJOs
I tried one MOJO and all floaters
I tired both MOJOs by themselves.
This isn't going to work everywhere, but the best luck I had with these was using both MOJOs and just a handful of floaters. (probably because I was in a confined marshland not open water)
I had multiple species of ducks flying in and I even had 3 groups of geese come in for landing on them.
I bought the MOJO remote and receiver kit for these guys also and they worked perfectly. Just makes things a little easier.
PROS:
Lightweight - I fit both in one backpack and strap the stands to the side.
Durable - solid material and easy to clean. Stands are strong and snap together easily.
Easy to use -batteries in, put on stand, snap wings on, stick em in the ground, turn em on. That's it.
Detailed - looks like a real duck. It almost got shot a couple times.
CONS:
Not much to put in here but my biggest issue was the stands. Their stands snap together easily and are strong but I fear they won't last very long as they fill with water due to being hollow. If they made these a solid piece of polymer or something that wouldn't rust, it would last much longer.
Conclusion:
Great product, a must-have in your spread. Don't hesitate, order it. You won't be disappointed.
